Thanks (and Get Well) to Drew Karchmer

PPI got a big boost from Dre Karchmer in Memphis.

PPI got a big boost from Drew Karchmer in Memphis.

This September, PPI was lucky enough to meet Drew Karchmer, a young activist who was planning a project to benefit PeacePlayers International in conjunction with his Bar Mitzvah. Drew, on a trip to Washington with his grandparents, the Coopers, stopped by the PPI office to meet the team.

Now, PPI is proud to announce that Drew, with the help of his family, has raised over $360 for PeacePlayers International. Unfortunately, a sudden fever knocked Drew out of commission on what was supposed to be the big day for his project, but his mother LaurieĀ  filled in admirably – selling $2.00 tickets at the 21st Annual Memphis Kosher Barbecue for a chance to win an autographed baskteball that the Karchmer’s secured from the Universtiy of Memphis Men’s Basketball Team.

PeacePlayers International would like to thank both Drew and Laurie for their oustanding support, and of course, their teamwork. Get well soon, Drew!

PPI just had a great set of visitors at its global headquarters in Washington, DC. Drew Karchmer, a recent Bar Mitzvah from Memphis, Tennessee (pictured at right), is currently organizing a project to benefit PeacePlayers International in conjunction with the Anshei Sphard Beth El Emeth Congregation’s 21st Annual Memphis Kosher BBQ Contest. His grandparents, the Coopers, had treated him to a trip to Washington for his birthday, and the whole group stopped by our offices to say hello.

We’ll post more details about the Drew’s event as it approaches. PPI would like to thank Drew and his mother Laurie for all their support.

Jared Rosenblatt and the Rosenblatt Family

June 1, 2009

PeacePlayers International would like to thank Jared Rosenblatt and the Rosenblatt Family. Jared, a native of Avon, Connecticut, hosted a Bar Mitzvah party at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts, which raised $1,000 for PeacePlayers International. We’d like to especially thank Jared and his family for keeping PeacePlayers International informed through every step of his project and sending along the picture to the right. Remember, we’re always happy to hear from our grassroots supporters.
